Wellness Exams and Preventative Vaccinations
The best medicine for your pet is preventive medicine. Since all aspects of your pet's life affect his or her health, we wan to help you with more than vaccinations, test for parasites, and the physical exam your pet needs each year. We talk to you about your pet's dental needs, proper exercise and training, the best diet available for your pet's age and condition, and various techniques for correcting bahavior problems. We encourage our pet's owners to participate in health care decisions.
Along with wellness examinations, preventive vaccinations are the cornerstone to good health. Due to the many recent discoveries and innovations in veterinary medicine, your pet can be protected from most major infectious diseases. Today, many immunizations and preventive treatments are available that did not exist just a few years ago.
Medical Care
If your pet is ill, we can arrange to see him or her the day that you call. If your pet is seriously ill, the doctors can see your pet immediately. In order to diagnose your pet's illness, we are equipped with a modern X-ray machine, an ECG apparatus, and in-house blood and serum analyzer. We also have an excellent outside lab that can have most lab results by the next day.
Hospitalization
Treatment of most illnesses begins at the hospital. Follow up care is generally continued at home. Our doctors and staff are always available to help and support you during the home care portion of the treament. For some illnesses, your pet needs to stay at the hospital for fluid therapy, metabolic stabilization, wound treatment, or other procedures thatrequire direct veterinary supervision. During the hospitalization period, the doctors speak with you about your pet's progress. The entire staff is dedicated to making your pet feel comfortable and secure during his or her hospital stay.
Surgery
Surgery is performed using current and the safest anesthetics available. We use monitors to help doctors and surgical assistants detect any irregularities before they become serious problems. An in-house laboratory allows us to evaluate the patient the same day prior to surgery. Pain management is a priority in our sugical cases.
We help your pet safely recover from surgery with comprehensive pain management, careful nursing care by our trained staff, specialdiets, and most importantly, gentle individualized attention and encouragement.
Radiology
Radiographs are essential for diagnosing certain medical and surgical problems, and are performed routinely, with pets either being awake or anesthetized. We are able to perform various types of diagnostic contract studies, and can perform X-rays for evaluating hip dysplasia.
Ultrasound
Examinations are available. If your pet's case is unusual or unresponsive, the doctors can schedule you an appointment.
Dental Care
Good dental care is as important for your pet as it is for you. Proper dental care no tonly prevents bad breath and periodontal disease, but also prevents infection spreading through the blood stream to your pet's liver, kidneys and heart.
Our hospital is well equipped to provide dental care services to insure your pet receives proper oral health care. We also carry an assortment of dental home care products.

Greatstrides have been made in addressing the needs of older pets. Veterinarians today are well equipped with knowledge, products, and diagnostic tools to identify age related problems and formulate realistic strategies to allow our pets to live longer richer lives.
Pocket Pets and Exotic Animal Care
Our veterinarians are available to assist you with information and care for many your exotic and pocket pets. Our knowledgable staff can provide nutritional and husbandry advice for your little loved ones, which include hamsters, gerbils, ferrets, guinea pigs, mice, rats, rabbits, chinchillas, a variety of birds, and the occasional reptile and amphibian.
Behavior Consultation
Behavioral problems are the number one reason pets are taken to animal shelters. If you are experiencing a behavioral problem with your pet we offer examinations, couseling, behavior modification programs, and sometimes drug therapy to help resolve the issue. We can also refer you to veterinarians specializing in behavior medicine as the situation warrants.
Pet Identification
We offer the "Home Again" microchip, which is reconized nationwide. A tiny microchip the size of a grain of rice is implanted beneath the pets skin between the shoulder blades. Each microchip has a unique number. This number, along with information about the owner and pet, are added to a national pet registry. Most veterinarians and animal shelters have electronic scanners for detecting and reading these implanted microchips. If a lost pet is found, and the microchip is scanned, the registry is called and the owner is contacted.
Boarding
We offer limited boarding for cats and small to medium dogs. The same veterinary assistants who care for the hospitalized animals also care for our boarding kennel guests. The assistants are trained to recognize changes in your pet's appetite and attitude, and they work hard to keep pets clean and comfortable. We also board pets who have ongoing medical problems and who need medicaion and/or observation. Reservations for boarding should be made well in advance, especially if around major holidays.
Pharmacy, Prescription Pet Food and Supplies
We stock an extensive drug inventory. Medications can be conviently dispensed before leaving the hospital. We also have everything to compound and flavor your medication as well for those pets with finicky tastes. We also carry a large stock of Hill's Prescription Diet for cats and dogs. Over many years our doctors have developed great confidence in these diets as an adjunct to the treatment of a variety of diseases including those affecting the kidney, heart, and liver. Additionally there arediets for obesity, allergy and cancer which jave all been shown conclusively to help he underlying disease process, and which we therefore utilize regularly.
